My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 74. The prognosis was grim, but he chose to face his final year with courage and dignity. We spent countless hours together, talking about his life, his regrets, and his hopes for us. Hospice care allowed him to remain at home, surrounded by family. The hardest part was watching him lose strength, but we found comfort in small joys—listening to his favorite music, sharing stories, and simply being present. His passing was peaceful, and though the loss is immense, I am grateful for the time we had and the lessons he left behind: cherish your loved ones, and don’t wait to say what matters most.
